Overview
These are brand new tables just for South America.
To view older data from November-December 2021, go there.
To view older data from January-March 2022, go there.
Below, you will find 2 tables:
1.  Weekly raw data (Go here)
2.  Weekly data scaled per 100,000 population (Go here)
The countries are ordered best (fewest Covid cases)
to worst (most Covid cases) using the latest infection
Cases numbers in the last column in the table.
These tables are a snapshot of 1 day per week
since April 7, 2022.  The "change" rows
are the changes in Cases or Deaths since the
previous week.
These tables are useful in noting trends.  Pay special
attention to the "change" rows, as comparing these
will help you to determine how quickly infections
and/or deaths are increasing.  An exceptionally
large increase is displayed in red.
Disclaimer:
Tables of data such as this are only as good as the
source of that data.  These tables merely reflect
what was reported.  Some locations are reporting
only once a week,
Red in the Cases change row
or the Deaths change
A red number in
bold
means this is the maximum
row means a significant change above normal, such
as going from a 4 digit number to a 5 digit number.
found in that category within this entire table.
The table below lists the Covid-19 infection rate
and deaths as raw data plus computed changes
since the previous week.

This table contains computed data.
The table below lists the Covid-19 infection rate
and deaths per 100,000 in population for the
mainland countries in South America.  I have
taken the number of Cases, divided that number
by the population, and multiplied the result by
100,000 to get the numbers in this table.  Similar
computations were done with the Deaths.  The
data is rounded up or down to the nearest integer
value.  The data used to make the computations
come from the table above, which comes from ...
https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html
The populations were found on the internet and
the values that I used can be viewed
here.
Red in the Cases row
means 25,000 (25%) or more Cases per 100,000 population.
Red in the Cases change row
means a significant change above normal,
Red in the Deaths row
means 250 or more Deaths per 100,000 population.
Red in the Deaths change row
means a change of +5 or more.
A red number in bold means this is the maximum
such as going from a 2 digit number to a 3 digit number.
found in that category within this entire table.
